Meet Our Founder
Meet Matt Ganim: Founder & CEO
With steady hands and a heart for service, Matt Ganim leads Tame Dog Training at the helm guiding our team and every family we touch toward profound harmony.
A Lifetime of Devotion Matt’s journey began as a boy surrounded by family dogs, sparking a curiosity for behavior that deepened at age 20 (2005). Influenced by his father, a cognitive and behavioral psychologist, Matt learned the power of clear boundaries and timely guidance principles he applied to dogs, transforming unruly pets into confident companions. That insight became Matt’s compass.
Self-Made Mastery For nearly a decade, Matt has always studied philosophy, theology, business, economics, human behavior, and dog behavior and conditioning. He traveled nationwide to train under respected names in the dog training world Larry Krohn (Pak Masters), Gary Wilkes (Click and Treat pioneer), Jeff Gellman (Solid K9 Training), and Sean O’Shea (The Good Dog) while self-studying Ivan Pavlov, B.F. Skinner, Michael Ellis, Bart Bellon, George Hickox, and countless others.
Matt founded Tame Dog Training in 2015. He built every system from scratch, blending classical wisdom with modern precision to create partnerships that endure. Today, Matt’s vision has grown our sanctuary into a team-driven legacy, serving people first, always and caring for dogs in the best way possible.
The Heart of Our Mission Nurturing Relationships
At the core of Tame Dog Training is our belief that the bond between people and their dogs is sacred. The connection we share with our dogs is simple yet profound it brings us back to what truly matters: patience, love, and connection. Dogs have this magical ability to simplify our lives and help us focus on what’s important.
We aim for dogs to enrich our lives, not overwhelm them. Small changes in how we interact with our dogs can lead to big transformations in our homes and relationships. Our goal is not only to train dogs but to foster peace, balance, and joy within families. It’s about nurturing the harmony that allows us all to thrive.
Creating a Harmonious Life with Dogs
We all seek a “Garden of Eden,” a place where everything lives in harmony. While the world may not be perfect, we can create a glimpse of this harmony in our homes, one dog and one relationship at a time.
In a world where dogs now share our spaces more than ever before, their presence says something beautiful about humanity. By welcoming dogs fully into our lives, we elevate not only them but ourselves.
Grateful for the Opportunity to Serve
At Tame Dog Training, we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve people and help dogs. The work we do keeps us grounded, humble, and full of heart. Every step of the process is a chance for growth, and we’re honored to be part of the journey to a better life for both people and dogs.
